First, thank you for getting the site back up and running much, much faster. I know IT work can be a real pain. Thank you!

It seems like the site is having caching issues. For example, the New Posts feature does not work like it used to. Instead of clicking New Posts, seeing the list of latest updates, and then clicking it again a minute or so later and seeing more of the latest posts, it seems that New Posts is pulling a list of posts that is updated maybe every 5 minutes or so. I didn?t test to find the exact duration but it?s certainly not refreshing in less than 2 minutes.

Second, I?ve made some posts to threads and then when seeing that thread 3-4 minutes later in the list of threads after refreshing the site, I go into that thread and don?t see my recent post. But then when I check that thread again say 10 minutes later I then see my post.

So it seems like the site is having caching/refresh problems. Not sure what the new site?s architecture is so maybe that?s ok. But from a requirements pov, I would say that the site should not be behaving this way.

Trouble logging in from web browser

I am not able to log in from a web browser (chrome or brave).
I get the ?thank you for logging in? screen, then a few seconds later it goes back to the log in page, and I am not logged in.

I am able to post now because on my phone I do not log out.

Anyone else having this problem?

Did you retain forum cookies when CG made the server move and were logged in at that time?
I use Firefox and received the move message directed at my username, so I remained logged in throughout the move to whatever placeholder they were using. After the move, the browser went right to OT without issue, logged in as normal for years now.

Do you check the 'remember me' box?

From work computer, so I always log out when finished.
I attempted log in a few times, no good, so I closed out and cleared cookies, and tried again, still no good, so I closed the browser and used my phone.

Came back at end of lunch and opened browser, and there it was, logged in.

It appears to now be working.

Off Topic Log In

I can log onto the website without issue. But, for some reason, Off Topic won't let me log in. When I enter my info, it accepts it, then goes back to log in screen.

Not receiving notifications...

Thanks so much for the shiny new server! It's super fast, really glad to have it back online....

I don't seem to be receiving notifications for threads that I've subscribed to for immediate notification. Any ideas? I checked my junk mail folder.... It's not the end of the world, unless we get another Freedom week and I don't get to hear about it

Yes, I've been noticing re-indexing has latency. Forex, if updating a thread by making a post, the thread does update but when one clicks on the forum index, the thread may still be down the page and highlighted/enveloped, showing it was unread and the 'last post' not reflecting the update.

However, if one clicks on the thread, the update is there. Alternatively, by the time one figures it out and refreshes the forum index, usually 30-60 seconds, it appears the forum has re-indexed and is displaying correctly.

This is only a Joke about some or most of the typed special character / letter characters are being changed into question marks and other symbols by our new A.I. grandma notsees and punctuation marks overlords, who probably know better than me.

If this had been a real emergency, I'm pretty sure someone would have tipped the moving company guys a $?20, not to break things when they moved Calguns.
