My friend just purchased two Ruger LCR 9 mm that they advertised in stock approximately 3 weeks ago and they still haven't shipped. When he contacted them he was told it's 6 weeks because of a ridiculous email stating about unsure times and covid blah blah blah. So is it really a 6-week shipping time wilde built for items that are in stock?

It wasn't an email, its the terms and conditions at check out. Its required to be acknowledged by the customer before payment is submitted. Yes, we had those 2 Rugers in stock, sitting with the other 2000 or so items in the back. WBT is a small family run shop, not Amazon. We are up front about lead times because we are behind with shipping and DROS appointments, and there are about 10 different reasons that need not be addressed, it is what it is. We are up front in every possible way before a customer can spend a dime with us. I'm sorry your friend had to wait so long, its not intentional. Go to our check out page and see for yourself. It don't now how to be more clear on where we are at.
