Free Sig 1911/22

Any idea when the promo 1911/22's are coming in. I bought my sig 1911 on February 1 the day the 2 for 1 sig deal started. Still waiting for a serial number for the 2nd pistol.

I thought the offer was good through April. But most dealers are limited to something like 5 or 10 sets. I also heard that the dealers had to place their orders (or otherwise commit) at the SHOT show. I got one of my LGS's five. You'd have to call around to see if any of your LGS's can still get any of the deals.

It was a nationwide Sig Sauer promotion and I heard that the manufacturer could not keep up with the promotion and therefore ended it early. I could be misinformed. The 1911-22 isn't built by Sig but is a gun produced by GSG. Whoever took advantage of this promo got two great guns for the price of one.

Stopped by today and asked. The salesman checks and says yep we have a serial number assigned for you. So much for the phone call I was suppose to get but at least it's in now.

It "ended" when Sig ran out of guns. That said, we have a few hundred .22's that arrived for the first 250 or so people that bought the qualifying .45's. (We got a few more "than the 5 or 10 sets"... ) Unfortunately Sig still owes about that same amount for our remaining customers.

"Well I can't say for sure it's gospel, however I decided to call Sig customer service this morning and find out why we can't even get a date as to when the .22's will be shipped to their suppliers. What I heard was disturbing.

"All of the guns, both .45's and .22's that were part of the promo were shipped to the respective stores together." In other words if you got a .45 there was a .22 right behind it in inventory ready to go. Sounds unbelievable but that is what this guy told me. I tried to call the store manager at the Turner's where my purchase was made but after almost 10 minutes on hold I had to give up.

As I said, this is pretty disturbing if true."

I sent a PM to Turners here this morning regarding a handgun I saw in their Spring Flyer. I want to purchase it but I don't want to screw up my 1911-.22 DROS. Haven't heard back.
