Burned again by Turners why did I go back!?

Because they listed a nice Marlin 39a on their used gun rack so I drove 100 miles round trip to buy it.

Guess what? Not available even though its NEW just posted on their website.
I was told it was being transferred to another store although it “can’t be transferred for 30 days”!?
Turners either doesn’t follow their own policies and state law with consignments, or lies to customers and cherry picks consignment guns for employees.
    Shady practices.
    Buyer and seller both lose.
Never consign a gun @Turners use Gunbroker etc and an FFL!

    Ugh

You could have easily done the same and saved a hundred mile trip
That's all well and good, but it appears that their policy is to keep a gun listed on the Gun Rack even after it's sold. I had the same thing with a shotgun that they told me had already been picked up earlier that day, meaning it'd been sold at least 10 days before. Yes, they did tell me I should've called as well. But if you're advertising something that's not available, I'm sorry, but that's plain bait and switch!

Kingransom my inconvenience is a minor point, if you read my post and know Turners policy you’d realize the gun is not “sold” that can’t be true.
You were probably lied to also because an employee wanted that 1911.

Seller is the big loser . As a buyer I accept any inconvenience as part of the deal.

      Regards!

So many stories regarding Turner's lies and deceptive policies, they burned me also. They think they are to big to fail.

Corporate controls the website. Not the individual stores from my conversation with a worker there.

I?m sure it?s kept up AFTER it?s been sold in the event the buyer fails the background check. It?s a lot less work to unlist, and then reliant in that event. How soon after it?s been picked up do you expect it to be removed from the site?

Nope ..19K I’ve bought a used gun and reminded the clerk to remove it and he said “I just did” in the inventory system.
Sure enough I checked and it was gone. It’s done immediately in their system at the gun desk.

When I went into the store it was a Friday. The gun was picked up that day, meaning it was sold at least 10 days before that. The following Monday it was still up on their website. The manager apologized and told me it was a manual process, meaning they screwed the pooch, either by mistake or intentionally. Either way, it sucks.

I suspect that it's the employees buying stuff, or ousting it "on hold" so that they can buy it when it's available.

Inventory system or from their website? Does that mean everyone at the store has access to editing the website? From inventory, I could see it possible to update on the lowest level, but the website? Doesn?t sound accurate.

I've never had any problem w/ Turner's - there's one near where I live and another by my office. Made purchases in both stores without regret.

One challenge I had was going to one of those stores, learning they had '3 in stock' of an item I was after. I went home for a couple hours to do on-line research before I made my decision to buy. I was back at the same store that same afternoon and in the time I was gone they had sold all 3 'in stock' items. I had to order one and wait for delivery, but in that process learned there was a better model, and ordered that one instead of the base model. Sure I had to wait for it but was all the happier when I got it.

Any store can have faulty inventory issues. The more we rely on technology the more it comes to bite us. And not every clerk knows everything about what's going on. Just part of the world we live in.

There's still a difference between an honest mistake and deception. Once is random. Twice is happenstance. Three times is suspicious. More than that, and it's intentional.

Turners employees snap up consignment guns.

Then there is the manager that held a consignment gun for his buddy. When his buddy didnt show up 2 hours later, the manager wouldnt sell the gun to the next guy on the waitlist, then he hid in the back when questioned about it.
