Looking to do a ppt in the West Covina store this weekend, it's going to actually be a firearm trade, my question is that my California dl/id expires March 3rd. Will this effect me in picking up or as long as I start dros before the ids expiration am I in the clear?

Turners is a real stickler about it.... ppt it and go get it renewed then pick up.

Most stores (speaking of all gun stores, not just Turners) won't let you pick it up until you have a valid license so you should get that taken care of.

Remarkably, CA DOJ has advised that a dealer may transfer a firearm to a customer whose CDL/CID expired after DROS.

However the "stickler" part that we abide by (that all FFL's are meant to follow, even those that don't "stickle") is the ATF mandate that goes like this- "Before any licensee may sell or deliver a firearm to a non-licensee... The buyer must provide a valid government photo ID..."

That said ATF does allow a combination of documents that would suffice if the CDL expired or was lost after DROS. A typical combination would be your U.S. Passport with name, photo and DOB and a vehicle registration with your current address.
