Small Problem with an order ... UPDATE - Problem Solved ! (thumbs-up)

I finally placed my first order with Rifle Gear, and bought a few things over your Black Friday sale, two of which were a Bullet button and a Bullet Button Installation tool for my son's AR build. We sat down the other day to start building it and found that the BB "tool" doesn't even come close to fitting the slots in the nut. It's way off. So now the question becomes .... is it the threaded nut of the BB that is "off", or is it the "tool" that is off? I drove about 45 minutes to will call the order rather than having it shipped, mainly because I was going to be in the area anyway.

    Here is the order details:

    Order Number 238075
    Customer ID 1156938
    Order Date 12/1/2014 11:42 :24 AM

What's the best way to proceed to get this returned/ replaced/fixed? I know it's not a high dollar problem and isn't that big of a deal, but still , it was a little disheartening way to start a father son build .
Thanks! Nice Store by the way!

    Edited to add:

Sorry my first post on your Vendor forum ends up being about problem with an order. You guys do Rock, lol !

Do you want us to just mail you a new BB nut and wrench, or did you want to come in?

You can actually continue your build, just use a small flat blade screwdriver to tighten the nut on the Bullet Button in the meantime. Just screw it down until the nut is flush with the end of the mag catch, at which point your screwdriver won't be able to turn it anymore anyway. You can also use a small nail or one of those "precision" screwdrivers and just screw it down from one side only. The Bullet Button wrench actually didn't even exist for a year or so after the BB first came to market and this is how everyone installed them.

Oh, I know ..... continuing the build wasn't a problem, lol. The only reason I bought the tool for the build in the first place, was relatively cheap, and because I've always taught my sons that it's always better to have and use the right tool for the job (if practical), that, and it will also be used to build his brother's AR next, after this one is finished. It was more of a convenience / teaching aid.

There's a chance I might have to drive down to Newport Beach on Friday, and if so, I might be able to swing by again to exchange them (maybe at your faster Will Call counter? ). I can PM you tomorrow when I know for sure, if you like.

Thanks again for the fast response. As an aside, If I had to guess, the problem is with the machining; probably out of spec. on the tool (but it could be the nut I suppose, too). I just don't know. I probably could easily fix it with a few swipes with a file since it's aluminum, but that doesn't help you with a bad product to show your vendor for credit, or me if I screw it up.. Yea, I own a business too, lol.

Thanks again for the fast response!

If you come by let me know and I'll just give you one of each part so it doesn't really matter which one is out of spec.

Stopped by this morning and talked to Chris. He was helpful, apologetic, and handled the problem very professionally. He said" Wow, that really is off" and we both laughed. Thanks again Shark. Great customer service. Wish I could have gotten some Rifle Gear Stickers for my boys, but I know your out of stock right now (Chris apologized for that, too, lol). Oh well, lol, maybe next time.

Thanks again. Your rep. for great customer service is well deserved.
