I'm not a Riflegear rep - just a happy customer.

If the transfer is truly a PPT (buyer and seller are both CA Residents) the transaction is already roster exempt. In other words, the 226 can already be in its 'normal' semi-automatic form before the transfer.

This is correct. PPTs are currently exempt from the roster. No need to have the firearm in a single shot configuration.

Just to clarify, a PPT is where both customers are CA residents and appear in person together for the transfer.
