Selling restricted items to Ca. Leo's

Riflegear is my favorite gun shop, I like doing business with them, and they're a great group of people.

A couple months back I was in the shop looking at what was in stock inside the counters and a local LEO was asking the employee if he had any 30 round pmags in stock. The employee said that he would sell him some if there were any in stock at that moment (which there was not). My question is this: Considering the attack on the rights of all law abiding gun owners of California, will you guys be willing to stop selling restricted items to LEO's in restricted states? Law abiding citizens, soldiers back from duty, and even Riflegear employees are all subject to harsh 10 round magazine laws, bullet buttons etc. Would you guys be willing to hold everybody to the same standard?

Thank you Riflegear for your service, I hope that you guys will thrive and expand throughout the years.
So um... moon labia or something.

Very good idea. I agree same standards.

Gee, what a concept! All citizens living by the same set of standards regardless of the type of job you happen to have. This is one thing that really frosts my @$$.

its a nice dream but sadly we live in a double standard country/state . and the few companies that do say they wont sell to exempt people turn around a few months later and start selling those items to exempt people again and for every one company that takes that stand there is 2 more comps waiting to take over .its all about greed these days right from wrong doesnt matter anymore
Laws that forbid the carrying of arms... disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes... Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man. Jefferson's "Commonplace Book," 1774_1776, quoting from On Crimes and Punishment, by criminologist Cesare Beccaria, 1764

I agree with what you're saying for the most part, but I wouldn't lump Riflegear into that "greed" category. They need to make profits of course, but they have done well by pretty much everybody that shops there. You probably didn't mean them specifically, but I know what you're saying... the almighty dollar.

Although some companies seem to be trying to do the right thing, selling restricted items to only a privileged few creates a privileged class. I appreciate any company and LEO that show support for the rights of "regular citizens." The Colorado sheriffs suing the state of Co. comes to mind right now.

Indeed. I think it's about taking a stand, rather than greed but I agree and I would be more willing to go purchase at a store that implemented a policy like that.

Maybe it would mean standing up for something, but nothing will come of it unfortunately. CA will never say "look, they stopped selling to cops. We better let everyone have 30 round mags now." Any business that does this will only piss off its customers and lose money not only on that purchase but possibly future purchases.
A citizen who shirks his duty to contribute to the security of his community is little better than the criminal who threatens it.

                ^Yep.

In my experience, most LEO's don't agree with the most of the guns laws. I don't agree with making it more difficult for them to acquire the items they need for their job. Why blame them for the acts of legislators who created the laws to begin with?

However, if a LEO is buying 30 round AK magazines, then I feel like he is taking advantage of his authority. Same with AR mags if they don't actually have one for duty use.

It's just easier to leave it alone and work to improve our laws instead of creating an "us vs. them" environment.

Every CA law abiding citizen regardless of occupation should be subject to the same laws. Yes, there's LEO's who may not agree with the laws, but how often and how many LEO's do you actually see actively supporting law abiding citizens??? With the power of the badge and if the opportunity is there, they will take advantage, who wouldn't right? (Just saying..)

I see LEO's supporting law abiding citizens nearly every day. Just because you see a bunch of videos or hear of a few officers being unprofessional, it does not mean the rest of them are the same.

In case you need evidence, here is a very comprehensive survey on what LEO's across the country think about gun control: http://www.policeone.com/Gun-Legisla...-perspectives/

Not all LEO's are against our rights and it truly is a thankless job.

Please, I don't want any LEO bashing in my forum. I'm going to lock this thread.
