Latest word is that these have been discontinued, but there may be some that are still available. We're looking into it. -
I can second the discontinued motion. Word from HKPro.com (the official site for all things HK) is that the HK SL8-6 is discontinued.Comment

Just buy a used on on grunbroker. That's what I did. They are selling cheap b/c they suck unless you drop another 2K into them to convert them to the G36. (mine's in jail as we speek)Comment

Congrats on finding one. They will be tougher and tougher to get as the availability dwindles. We hear nothing but good things about this rifle and its accuracy. Enjoy the gun and happy shooting!Comment

I wonder what/if HK will replace it with, or if they're putting all their eggs in the MR556 basket. Otherwise, besides the USC, they won't have any other rifle out on the civilian market besides their super-upgraded AR15.
My ultimate dream is for them to have found the political/cost-effective wherewithall to release a closer clone to the G36 that people didn't have to spend an extra $2k on an SL8-* to come close to.Yellowfin: The 2A in its true intent of what it protects can be summed up in one word: parity. Good question, I hope there is a replacement closer to the G36. Personally, I only want the sl8 because I can convert it later to a close clone of the g36. My usc is planned for an ump conversion.Comment

Today - Friday the 13th is my lucky day! I PPT'd an HK SL-8 from another calgunner 10 days ago at Riflegear. Just got it home and probably will sleep with it tonite! LOL! I like this rifle and ARs and 1911s, I like Calguns, I like Riflegear! Thanks Riflegear for making these transactions straightforward and go so smoothly.Comment
