    GAS BLOCK HEIGHT..

    continuation with shark in my thread in the rifle forum..



    quick Q.. the upper is YHM so is this midwest industries gas block compatible?

    Yes, that gas block will allow you to mount a standard "forearm" mounted flip sight on the gas block. The height is the same plane as the flat top on your upper receiver. The diameter is .750 which is the same for all standard barrels. The only real exception to the .750 diameter barrel at the gas port is when you get into bull barrels and the pencil-thin lightweight barrels. The only tool you would need to swap out your gas blocks is a 1/16" punch to knock out your gas tube roll pin so you can transfer your gas tube to the new gas block. You also will need allen wrenches to remove/install the gas blocks.
