Best Red Dot for a Mini-14

Hey I'm considering getting a stock with a top rail and wanted to know which primary arms red dot would fit on this gun the best (Ruger Mini-14 Ranch). I heard a riser isn't needed since it's already high but I'm not too sure. After doing some research I figured I wanted either the MD-07 OR MD-08 when they come back in stock but I'm not sure which one would fit better, or if there is a better option. I'm sure the MD-07 would since the base is fixed? But if I want a quick detach I would need a riser right? The stock I'll probably be getting is the Archangel Sparta http://www.archangelmanufacturing.co...ngel-sparta-3/

Also, if I decide not to put any stock on the Mini, I'll probably get the GG&G rail.

I have the MD-07 on mine with a Weigand picatinny rail. Works awesome.

Awesome! I wonder which rail is more low-profile, that Weigand or the GG&G.. GG&G also sells a red dot rail for the mini-14 but I might just get a regular rail just to have the option for a scope in the future

Whats the difference between picatinny style and the regular? What's better for the primary arms micro dot

EDIT: Seems like the Weigand is shorter and has an ejection scallop for better brass ejection! Niceeee. Still don't know if it's lower-profile than the GG&G though.

I think the profile is about the same. The ejection port consideration is also why I chose the weigand over the GG&G.

Going a different route. Ultimak rail w/ the Primary Arms MD-07 will bring me closest to the co-witness. Hopefully I can see the iron sights clearly threw it !
