    Atlantic Firearms WASR 10 (CAI)

Just started the 10-day wait in CA.

    Here are my first impressions:

    First, Atlantic Firearms:

Because I'm not great with online purchasing, I caused them an inordinate amount of hassle trying to order this thing! They were great. They could easily have told me to buy somewhere else, but they (and specifically I mean Blaine) helped me out and during our phone conversation threw a couple of well-deserved jabs at me and CA in general....all in good fun! I appreciate how they worked with me, helped me fix the screw up that I caused, and kept me posted the whole way through.

The firearm (sorry for the crappy pictures, I'll post better once I have the rifle):

I've only looked at it while I was doing the DROS process, but here's what I found:
Looks excellent! No obvious cant to the front sight or gas tube, rivets flush and even, matching serial numbers (trunion, bolt, bolt carrier, gas tube, dust cover, Tapco single-hook G2 trigger group, clean but unfinished wood, nice machining of the mag well. I inserted a mag and there was no wobble at all. Bolt carrier moves freely.

    Extras:

Ad says the rifle comes with a bayonet. It also says that a frog may not be included and cleaning rod may not be included. Mine came with a great looking bayonet with the frog as well as the cleaning rod. Additionally, it came with a cleaning kit, oil bottle, and sling!

Once I can be trusted with it by the state of CA, I'll clean it and closely inspect it, then shoot it and report back.

First impression - outstanding! I'd buy from Atlantic again in a heartbeat.

Question: can anyone tell me about the serial number - its A1-XXXXX-13 RO.
There is no triangle arsenal mark on the trunion. What does this tell me? Am I missing something?
    Thanks!

Its a WASR... good gun... just refinish the wood and you will have a really good looking gun. I used minwax mahogany and some sealant. Lots of threads here on AK refinishing.

    The serial is nothing special.

    Good choice buying from atlantic.

Any update on your WASR? I'm thinking of picking one up.

Sherm , thank you for your review and of course your order , I am glad you like the gun and hope you have years of enjoyment with her !! For people considering the current WASR rifles have a new type of furniture on them and do not ship with the bayonet anymore .

I don't want to regret not buying one.
