Does anyone ask what Addax means?

I guess I hadn't really thought about it despite the logo. Watched 60 Minutes tonight and they mentioned Addax. Strange choice?

Actually, the ADDA in our company name is a part of our family name, and when we were thinking of a company name back when we started the company, we just could not figure out a name that was either not already taken, or the website url was not already taken.

We just decided to use a part of our family name, and we threw an X at the end of ADDA as being the X factor of our family name. Our family name in the Mid-East means metal worker or iron worker, which has been an occupation in our family going back to our great grandfather, and my grand father, and one of my uncles on my fathers side were gun smiths in the old country.

Once we picked ADDAX, that is when we found out that it is a desert antelope, so we decided to make a logo of an evil looking desert antelope.

In addition to this, we also found that there is also a large petroleum company named Addax Petroleum, there is also a racing team (Team Addax): http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Addax_Team , and a Composite Materials company named Addax www.addax.com.

During the past few years, we have had several clients ask us how we came up with Addax, and once we tell our story, it makes sense.

Saw this on the interwebz and thought of Addax immediately:

You guys need one of these in the shop! Yeah, it's not a real Addax but some other kind of antelope, but checkout the bling SBR or AR pistols with high cap mags and no bullet button Real bad***!
