The Addax ZK GPU is something we have been developing for the past year.
The Addax ZK GPU is built around our ESS (Enhanced Short Stroke) Piston System.
The Enhanced part is basically that our design allows for more gas dwell timing, and this provides for a softer and smoother cycling action and minimizes carrier tilt.
Some of you might notice that the gas block looks very similar to the original Addax GPU Short Stroke Piston Uppers, but that is the only part that has any resemblance to our original Addax GPU.
This is an entirely new system incorporating many enhancements over the original GPU short stroke piston system we used to use, and this is an Addax Tactical design, and we will be manufacturing this new piston system, uppers and eventually complete rifles/carbines.
This system has 4 gas setting adjustments to allow the user to fine tune the piston system to their needs / requirements.
There is a one piece piston rod assembly, and a one piece bolt carrier using a standard mil-spec AR bolt.
Our new system is very simple, yet efficient in design and operation.
The pictures below are prototypes mounted on various lowers.
These are not the final production models, but these prototypes are 90% of the final design, so we are almost ready to finalize the overall design for production.
We want to get another 15,000-20,000 rounds of testing in before we move forward to production.
