Updated training recommendations in SD County

Hey all, i'm looking for opinions/advice for handgun training in San Diego county. I'm relatively new to handgun training and need to improve my shooting. Is there any recommendations for a good refresher course, maybe a defensive handgun class with good instructors? Thanks.

I have not been there but a friend mentions SD Firearms Training Center was good. I tend to get out of town for weekend with friends to FrontSight. Good training and really level sets things. Brings everyone's skills up slowly. Many don't like it because the first two days are slow but there is a reason for it.

I worked with the guys from Aegis Academy (based at the Pala range) a few years back and was really satisfied with the training.

ASDS is also a great place to check out. Gunfighter Tactical works with them.

Ive taken a class with asds, and CCW USA offers handgun as well, both are good. I'm interested in local suggestions as well, having to drive out of state gets old and adds a lot of extra time off from work

Another vote for Aegis here. I've taken five of their handgun classes in the last year and had great experiences.

The class sizes are usually small so there is a ton of personal interaction with the instructors and sessions are sometimes one on one depending on the day. This allows you to fly through the class and allows for a ton of range time to actually train in different hands-on scenarios, speed, or work on fundamentals/mechanics without being rushed. Anyhow, Aegis offers a wide range of classes from beginner classes to advanced competition stuff so there is something for everyone.
