Sept. South OC Cal Guns Shoot (9-13)

Sept. South OC Cal Guns Shoot (9-13)

We will have both pistol and rifle competitions which you can enter for a nominal fee and win GENUINE CALGUNS SWAG! And of course BRAGGING RIGHTS. Prizes include T-shirts, key chains, luggage tags, free range time and more.

In addition to the new contests, I want to take this shoot in a different direction. I want this to be a "shooting social" rather than just cheap range time. Name tags will identify Calgunners and facilitate mingling. Get to know your fellow Calgunners. Also,we want to foster sharing of knowledge and access to different firearms. If you want to try before you buy, post it. Someone will likely have it for you to try. If you've always wanted to try that fantasy gun etc. Post it. Perhaps we can help make dreams come true.

Many of our group go out to dinner afterwards (usually sushi or Korean BBQ) please plan to join us for dinner after the shoot to trade stories and make new friends and business contacts.

Many of you I know and many of you know me, but please come up and introduce yourself to me. (and to each other)

    (now the details)
Please review the following details pertaining to the meet:
    Date: 9/13/13
    Time: 6:30 to 8:30

Pistols - no double taps, no drawing from holster (standard indoor range safety precautions)
Rifles - rifle permit REQUIRED (pistol calibers are exempt), can be had by attending a rifle permit class on Sunday mornings @ 10AM, anything less than 338 Lapua is good to go. . . and yes, ARs/AKs are welcome!
Shotguns (NEW POLICY IN PLACE!) - minimum distance is 7-yard line, and ONLY slugshot sold at the range will be allowed for use.
Brass Recovery (since there seems to be confusion) - Let the staff know you are recovering your own brass, and clean up your area before you start so you do not mistakenly pick up other people's brass.
Cost - $5, stay and shoot as long as you want!

REMINDER: - Please police after yourselves at the range. OnTarget has been gracious enough to grant several concessions to make this event a success month after month. We should return the courtesy when utilizing their facilities, and take responsibility for our actions. . . after all, we do want to portray Calgunners as responsible gun owners, right? If we find that you hit a hanger, we will make sure the staff is aware. . . NO EXCEPTIONS!

I want feedback from the attendees. . . do y'all want All you can eat Korean BBQ, Sushi, or hotpot? Sound off and let your opinion be heard!

If you are planning on attending, please vote and/or respond to the thread so we have a good headcount.

We are now at capacity. Any further chime in's will go on the stand-by list. Feel free to come down, but you will have to wait until someone rotates out to come into the bay.

Count me in. This will be my first time. Not that $5 is a big deal, but I was wondering if this was a Calguns fee (i.e. for prizes) or just collected by the range? I only ask because I have a membership at On Target (I'm assuming that's where it is?) that gets me in for free.

Also, my vote is for Korean BBQ.

          Me plus guest please. Thanks
Hi Gang, I am looking to get a compact/ sub compact, polymer, 9mm or .40 handgun for wife and she would like to try and get a feel of one if you are coming and would be willing to bring it to try. I will provide quality ammo of course.
I will have my CZ SP-01 and Garand among others that day for others to shoot if they want.

I can bring my Glock 19 9mm (it's the compact model). I'm ok with most ammo as long as it isn't steel-cased.

The $5 is collected by the range, however being that you are a member, you will be free.

The prizes and such are usually through a shooting contest and you buy a target to enter. There's also been just a straight raffle before. Just depends on what the organizers set up.

That's one of the guns I am considering. That would be great, thank you very much.

Well, its no Glock-whatever, but I should have my Bren light MG there (7.62x54R) and the HK G36 (.223/5.56) As well as my trusty HK45.
