    Pelican Foam

Does anyone know of a place where I can buy some foam for a Pelican 1550 case?

I know I can buy it online but I'm wondering if anyone knows of some Authorized Dealer or another source. I'm in Fountain Valley 92708

    Thanks.

Sammy's Camera gear in Costa Mesa has Pelican cases in stock and are a large authorized dealer. On the west coast aside from maybe Calmut and Pro Photo, these guys are one of the largest retailers around.

They have great customer service, albeit prices are often a little higher than internet due to having to run a brick and mortar location.

I bought pelican foam from "precision arms" in Escondido before.

Have you thought of buying it from the factory? Arent they in OC? Precision Arms is probably cheaper than the factory.... I heard about their so called 'parking lot sale' with full retail prices.....

I'd be really carefull about buying foam from unknown materials and suppliers like ebay or mcmaster carr....

There are a lot of different kinds of foams. Many have acids in them that will eat a blue finish very quickly- like a month or 2.

Pelican foam is inert. I've left firearms in pelican cases for years on end without any issues. A browning buckmark changed blueing color from unknown foam with acids within about 6 weeks.

I would never use any foam for a rifle or handgun case besides pelican foam again.

I bought my 3100 case on amazon, best price and free shipping. You can order the foam directly as well.

Yes, I called Pelican. They're in Torrance but that's only their showroom/warehouse. Can't actually walk in and buy their product.
