So you want legal advice with regard to complying with California law, all the while your stated intent is to break Colorado law. O-K. While I wouldn't be surprised if TSA or LAAPP (whoever that is, maybe you meant LAPD) freaked out, I don't know. But I can tell you this - if you leave the state with legally owned rebuild kits acquired prior to 1/1/2014, don't expect to legally bring them back in. Unlike the laws governing large capacity magazines, which provides for re-importing such magazines that were legally acquired prior to the 1/1/2000 deadline, no such provision currently exists in the law with regard to rebuild kits. Just leave them at home while you go on your trip.

      ^^^ That is good advice.
Keep what kits you have at home. Just take the 10 rounders with you. If you need more mags while in colo, just go to the store and buy more. They are cheap and readily available these days. No need to risk being questioned or loosing what you have.

My answer remains the same in light of the clarification. Sorry to be a jerk about it, but it reflects negatively on this forum when a Calguns member advocates illegal activity. On that thought, it probably violates the Calguns terms of use as well.
