I haven't been yet, but this thread doesn't make me want to go.... If I ever do, I'll make sure to bring my brass catcher that I made.

I wonder when the day will come when someone will draw on them because they're fed up

I don't think that would end up well. As much as I hate brass theft at ranges that is very over the top.

I know it wouldn't end well. Definitely not suggesting it, but I could only imagine, especially after someone has told a RO numerous times notnto...

I tell them I'm taking it... Anything they do after that is not changing that fact. I've dumped the bucket out in front of them and taken back my brass.

I was there this afternoon. It was empty. No problems as I was sighing in my hunting rifles and brass wasn't flying out.

It's widely known that they make a "bonus" on the brass they collect and sell. For them to disregard a customer's demand to not sweep their brass is just plain bad. The last time I was there they couldn't wait to clear the line at the end of the day so they could start collecting. I was happy that I made a shooter friend a couple lanes over and walked away with at least 40 extra 30-06 cases. Abraham, if you're reading this, I owe you!

Just wanted to update this thread:

After agreeing with my friend to take him to a local outdoor range, we had to decide between Angeles and Burro. I of course suggested Burro...but he was desperate to shoot steel so we ended up going to Angeles. Things were surprisingly different:

On the rifle lanes: They let the brass sit for 2 cease fires before they picked it up. They didn't ask you if you wanted to keep it, but at least they waited this time.

On the pistol range: The older RO would ask before picking up brass. He didn't bother asking me since I was shooting a mixture of rimfire, brass 9mm and .357, and aluminum 9mm.

I'm not sure what changed, but I am glad I got to walk off with all of my brass this time. The RO's were not the same ones from last time, so I am almost certain that had something to do with it.

I found Angeles one of the worst shooting experiences I've had at a public range. RO's constantly barking orders, standing behind you while you shoot, sweeping brass under your feet while you shoot. I can't think of anything more distracting to a shooter than someone else shooting back. And you guys PAY for that?

I now use Pala in SD county. 890 yards, no RO's standing behind you, no one sweeping brass but you, if you want to. I can concentrate there, I can't at Angeles.

Angeles might be good if training for an urban SHTF scenerio when you can imaging the RO's being the bad guys.

I don't reload myself so I can care less. It's actually a plus to me because I have those scavengers cleaning up my mess!
