    Any members in Kern County/Tehachapi?

Is there anybody from CalGuns that lives in the Kern County area? Unfortunately there isn't a chapter for me on here. I was thinking maybe we can have a get together in the not so distant future.

The L.A Chapter doesn't really cover my area. I'd really like to meet some like minded individuals from here, it's pretty lonely up here in the mountains!

    Hey Nick,

I'm not in the area but we are thinking about buying some land up there for camping, shooting, etc. What are the laws out there about discharging firearms? Friend or for in that respect?

    Thanks,

    Scott

      .
I'm in L.A. My son just rented a house in Tehachapi. We'd like to go target shooting in the area. Camping, too, eventually.

Join the Tehachapi Sportsmen Club. Its a private gun club in the local Sand Canyon that you can join for $50 a year, and you can shoot to your heart's delight all year long. You can get an application at either Southern Shooters Supply in downtown Tehachapi, or occasionally at Big 5 on Tucker Road. Saturday mornings are a great time to meet a lot of the other Tehachapi shooters. The other gun store in Tehachapi, Norm Hansen Firearms, has quite a few shooting classes where you can easily make friends as well.

A number of us also shoot for free across from the Sportsman range in the Sand Canyon, where we can shoot more than just clay pigeons or paper targets, but be sure to trek out any trash.
