just moved to Santa Clarita, CA

Hey guys, just moved to Santa Clarita. Does anyone know of any ranges, places to shoot(desert?) or even better, shooting clubs as well as places to buy ammo?
    Thanks!

A place to Shoot (www.aplacetoshoot.net), or Oak Tree Gun Club (www.oaktreegunclub.com). As for ammo...There are three Walmarts in the area that sell ammo but you have to be inclined enough to get there before they open to have a good chance at scoring anything.

Oak tree is wayyyyyy over priced. I will check out a place to shoot, do people wait outside the walmarts to buy up all the ammo? Does big 5 sell guns and ammo?

I think they're all overpriced up there. Walmart and big 5 both sell ammo. You're better off buying online it comes out cheaper even with shipping.

Angeles Range is out that way. Skeet, steel pistol bay and long distance out to 600-800 yards for rifle. Also feel free to check out the LA chapter forum.

We have an awesome shoot at Burrows Canyon in Azusa at then end of the month. We have an entire range and a huge pot luck with bbq. Also we have monthly shoots at LAX in Inglewood with Roscoes chicken after and Firing Line in Burbank with Pizza! Burrows shoot is definitely worth the drive.

As for ammo I get mine online. Usually look at the deals section here on calguns where people post ammo deals they find. Haven't bought from a brick and mortar store since.

If you wait for black friday they have the buy one get one free membership deal. If you find a 2nd person it's $125 for the year. No range fee for the member and your guests pay $15 vs $20 for range fees. You also get a few bucks off per 50rd oaktree brand ammo along with free rentals.

                Welcome to the SCV.

Brandon hit it right on the head. Oaktree is the place for handgun and shotgun. A Place to Shoot is a bit of a drive out San Fransiquito Canyon, but well worth the drive.

A Place to Shoot is a good place, good people, very affordable though busy. Also no steel. Probably be there this weekend.
