We have a small group (The No Name Pistol Club) that holds a 2 or 3 stage pistol match with a single 3-gun stage afterwards every second Saturday of the month at Burro Canyon. We rent the first bay on the right as you drive in. Cost is $30 that covers range fee and targets, etc. Usually only about a half dozen guys show up. We start about 9 AM. We do play safe, with a safety officer. Guns are kept empty and holstered until your turn to run the stage - on the line, you will load and make ready. Unsafe actions will result in disqualification. Otherwise, it is a fun group and usually done by about 3 PM or earlier, depending upon how many people show up. Scores are kept, but just for fun.
Novices are welcome. If you don't have a rifle or shotgun, just bring some 12 GA and .223 ammo and you can use one of our guns. If you don't have a handgun, bring some 9mm or .45 acp ammo. (Factory ammo please if you are going to use one of guns.) We usually run through 100 rounds of pistol and 20 rounds each of shotgun and rifle. No Wolf or steel cored ammo allowed per Burro Canyon rules during fire season.
Bring your own water or soft drinks and snacks.
