Spenceville range

Anyone been out there lately? My brother, my girl, and I are possibly going out there this weekend for some range time. Haven't been out there since last summer. Everything ok out there any tips on best time to go? I've only been there twice. Thanks!

I was there on a Saturday in January. Packed like sardines by 10:30AM.

Get there early.

I only drive by it on my way to hunting, after July 1st and on weekends, and it's pretty well occupied when the sun comes up.

i dont ever go there on a weekend, might get lucky though but its packed on the weekends. i was out there a few weeks ago during the weekday there was a couple other cars that left about an hour after i got there, had the place to myself. its a cool place to shoot when its not to crowded.

Be warned that its a public outdoor range with no range safeties to tell you the things you should already know. Like, put your ear pro on before you approach a hot line. It amazes me what people will complain about these days.

I stopped going there about a year ago when some people were down range on the far right side and some idiot starts shooting. He was pretty well lit into but still, just not a safe environment when dealing with so many people. I like the Lincoln gun range. You'll spend more on gas going to spenceville than the range fee and while they can be somewhat strict they ensure a good environment.
