Come out and joins us on October 17th and 18th at Sacramento Valley Shooting Center, one of the most outstanding ranges in the Central California and learn your heritage as an American, and also learn how to become an even better rifle shot than you are now.

You just bought a new rifle? We will show you how to be safe, efficient and accurate with it.

You say you've never fired a rifle before?? No problem!! We will train you how to safely, efficiently, & correctly operate a rifle.

You don't even have a rifle of your own? Again, not a problem. Make a note in the sign up comments, & we will try our best to arrange a loaner rifle for you. Most are also available with ammo to be purchased.

Rusty? Been awhile since you last seriously shot your favorite rifle. Come knock the rust off and give the equipment a serious shake out.

You really know how to shoot? Come see if you can measure up to the standards set by the Rifleman heritage. Who knows you might stay and decide to help pass those skill on.

You'd like to come but with the economy the way it is you don't think you can afford the time and money? Come and see why Appleseed is the only long term answer to solving these problems and that you really can't afford not to come. Sometimes short term sacrifice is necessary for long term gain. Get some friends to come with you, split the costs, carpool, share rooms. When bad times are coming now is the time to network and meet up with like minded Americans working together to save this country.

All applicable California rifle restrictions are in place, if in doubt to what is allowable, please refer to: http://www.ag.ca.gov/firearms/http://www.eventbrite.com/event/282210098

If they just show up at the door, it will be $50 for one day, and $80 for the weekend, plus the range fees.
The range fees for Sacramento Valley Shooting center are $10/person/day - $3/range member/day.

We shoot at 25m (82 ft) at a reduced size Army Qualification Target, scaled for 100, 200, 300, & 400 yd shooting.
We do not require the use of specialized gear, it really is a "run what you brung" shoot. We suggest the use of between .22 - 8mm rifles.

Iron sights, Tech-Sights, scopes, semi auto, bolt action, lever action, pump action, if you have it, & want to learn how to shoot it better, bring it!!

Plan on shooting about 250 rounds of ammo, per rifle, per day. The range is our classroom, & we very much believe in teaching, & shooting.

For more information on this shoot, please check here: http://appleseedinfo.org/smf/index.php?topic=4705.0www.appleseedinfo.org We'll see you there!!

Glen Helen CA Appleseed November 14-15th 2009

This Appleseed will be held on November 14-15th, 2009, and is our first shoot at the West End Gun Club (www.wegc.org) down near where the 210 and the 15 meet. This first shoot at this range is limited to .22 rimfire only.

Come out and joins us and rediscover your heritage as an American and learn how to become an even better rifle shot than you are now.

You just bought a new rifle? We will show you how to be safe, efficient and accurate with it.

You say you've never fired a rifle before?? No problem!! We will train you how to safely, efficiently and correctly operate a rifle.

Come and see why Appleseed is the only long term answer to solving these problems and that you really can't afford not to come. Sometimes short term sacrifice is necessary for long term gain. Get some friends to come with you, split the costs, carpool, share rooms, camp out. All applicable California rifle restrictions are in place, if in doubt to what is allowable, please refer to: http://www.ag.ca.gov/firearms/

For this first shoot at this range we will be using only .22 rimfire at 25m.

Now, what is this going to cost you? Women, all under 21s, and active military, reserves, and National Guard are given free admittance. Guys, 21 & older that are not in the military will be charged $45 for one day, $70 for the full weekend if they pre register here: http://www.eventbrite.com/event/442127415

The above are the Appleseed fees. In addition there are the daily range fees which are $10/person/day or $5/under 21/day.

We shoot at 25m (82 ft) at a reduced size Army Qualification Target, scaled for 100, 200, 300, & 400 yd shooting.

Iron sights, Tech-Sights, scopes, semi auto, bolt action, lever action, pump action, if you have it and want to learn how to shoot it better, bring it!!

The only real requirement is that there is some way to attach a sling to your rifle. If you don't have a sling we can probably loan one if you have a swivel stud to attach it to!

Plan on shooting about 250 rounds of ammo, per rifle, per day. The range is our classroom, & we very much believe in teaching and shooting.

For more information on this shoot, please check here: http://appleseedinfo.org/smf/index.php?topic=9693.0

All right, all you folks near Bakersfield, California!!

We are having our first ever Appleseed event coming to the 5 Dogs Range in Bakersfield, CA in a few weekends, October 17-18, 2009.

A chance to prove your marksmanship mettle against the dreaded AQT, to show mastery of not only your rifle, but also your self!

A chance to again discover your inner Patriot, and to celebrate together with fellow Americans in one of your oldest rights!

You say you've never shot a rifle before? That's one of the things we teach; safe, correct, & efficient operation of your rifle.

You say it's been awhile since your rifle has been out to the range with you, for you to see where both of you are in that "relationship"? Bring it!!

We specialize in making you a better shot with your rifle!! If you do not have one, or if yours fails during the event, we even have .22's to loan out.....just ask before the event, if possible.

                    San Diego Shooters,

Rifle skill is the serious business of Liberty.

Spend a weekend polishing this skill with the Appleseed Project, and hear riveting American Revolutionary War history besides. Can you shoot your modern rifle as well as a Revolutionary War Rifleman?

Marksmanship and heritage occupy the South Bay Rod and Gun Club this October 31-Nov 1 2009. You'll learn how to use your sling, measure groups and make sight adjustments by MOA, field position steady hold factors, sight picture, breathing, trigger squeeze, follow through, shot calling... all the tools you need to effectively use your rifle.

You'll learn the basics well enough to improve your shooting, but more importantly, well enough to teach your friends and family.

Course of fire is 25m, 22 rimfires or centerfires are welcome; we see everything from 10/22s to M1 Garands. You'll need up to 250 rounds per person per day. I highly recommend the Ruger 10/22 or Marlin 60 or 795 with Tech Sights and 1 1/4 wide (not 1" wide) sling swivels and a US Garand type web sling. But we'll teach you to shoot any rifle you choose to bring.

You don't need to have previous rifle shooting experience to attend, and safe handling will be explained at the start of the day. The environment is family friendly, ladies, minors and military pay only $5 per person per day.
Not just for beginners, though; talking with military and law enforcement attendees, they learned relevant technique also. Anybody, in short, who shoots rifles will benefit.

Sign up here online or by mail. Walk on registration is also possible, see all details here:

Its that pleasant time of year in Southern California when the weather can't be blamed - not to hot - not to cold - just right!

November 14-15 is an Appleseed Shoot Weekend here at the Southern California Dedicated Appleseed Range at Mike Thompson's beautiful range complex in Piru CA. (Wes Thompson's Piru Rifle Range, 6700 Holser Canyon, Piru, CA)

A chance to prove your marksmanship mettle against the dreaded AQT, to show mastery of not only your rifle, but also your self!

A chance to hear of the choices and sacrifices the men and women of America made on April 19, 1775 in response to a confiscatory British army.

Bi-pods are not allowed, we actually teach how to get away from "needing them".....

Plan on shooting about 250 rounds of ammo, per rifle, per day. The range is our classroom, & we very much believe in teaching, & shooting.

All applicable California rifle restrictions are in place, if in doubt to what is allowable, please refer to: http://www.ag.ca.gov/firearms/http://www.eventbrite.com/event/208519688

We recommend you bring: Rifle, ammunition, hat, adjustable sling, shooting jacket, elbow pads, shooting mat (or carpet remnant), bag lunch, water/drink bottles, stapler & staples, pens, chair, and most importantly, a teachable attitude. Website: www.lemooresportsmansclub.com (559) 924-7240

Come out and joins us at Appleseed's second shoot at this location, and rediscover your heritage as an American and learn how to become an even better rifle shot than you are now. Please arrive for check in by 8:00am.

You just bought a new rifle? We will show you how to be safe, efficient and accurate with it.

You say you've never fired a rifle before?? No problem!! We will train you how to safely, efficiently and correctly operate a rifle.

You don't even have a rifle of your own? Again, not a problem. Make a note in the sign up comments and we will try our best to arrange a loaner rifle for you.

Get some friends to come with you, split the costs, carpool, share rooms, camp out. When bad times are coming now is the time to network and meet up with like minded Americans working together to save this country.

Now, what is this going to cost you? Women, all under 21s, and active military, reserves, and National Guard are given free admittance. Guys, 21 & older that are not in the military will be charged $45 for one day, $70 for the full weekend if they pre register here: http://www.eventbrite.com/event/3410...20%20%20%20%20

If they just show up at the door, it will be $50 for one day, and $80 for the weekend.

We shoot at 25m (82 ft) at a reduced size Army Qualification Target, scaled for 100, 200, 300, & 400 yd shooting.
We do not require the use of specialized gear, it really is a "run what you brung" shoot. We suggest the use of any rifle between .22 - 8mm caliber.

We gather at lunch on site to explain the importance of April 19, 1775, the beginnings of our country and our Heritage.
Plan to bring a bag lunch both days. There is not time to drive out for lunch.

We guarantee you will not want to miss this portion of the event. Come learn about the choices made by the men and women of Colonial America and their response to an oppressive King. See if you can see any comparisons that might be drawn between then and now. See what your own choices are.

We also recommend you bring: Sling; shooting jacket; elbow pads; shooting mat (or carpet remnant); water/drink bottles. Water will be available at the range courtesy of the Shoot Boss...

and most of all, bring a teachable attitude; Why would you pay good money to do what you always did??? We will give you a solid foundation on which to base your shooting future...

You can also download flyers to print out and share with your friends, family and co-workers.

Planning on attending an event soon in Corona.
Been on the website, and looking forward to the education.

One question, I would like to bring one of my old trusty .22 rifles since ammo is more reasonable and its easy to shoot. It has a scope, and that may help my old eyes.

However, it has no sling and no way to attach one. Any suggestions?

Plan B would be to bring a SKS and it does have a sling.
No scope, and ammo is more expensive, but it is quick to reload with the stripper clips. More fun to shoot, also.

Any advice on how to attach a sling to a .22?

Also, where to buy a military sling?

                              Thanks!

I get slings here. These are good. And the price is right.

For a 10/22 you will have to attach a sling swivel to the front barrel band

Get the Uncle Mikes, make sure they are 1 1/4" swivels

This is the hardware you need to mount it. You would have to drill a small hole in the buttstock to attach the rear one.

I would call them and ask for a 1 1/4" kit with the 10/22 barrel band attachment and rear screw.

You can also get these elsewhere on the web (maybe Brownells or Midway). The local Gunstore here carries them. Most do.
