    San Jose gun show-Overview

I just got back from the SJ gun show and it wasn't just beef jerky this time. The building was packed with tables.
I picked up a castle nut wrench for 5 bucks. I also got 2 new, 08 Pro mag 10/20's for 35. Ran across 1 guy selling South African 5.56 for 7 bucks a box of 30! SCORE! One box was taped up and I thought it would be short. I just counted 33 in the box. That never happens.
There were 1 and 3 point slings for 20. Nice ones. And some nice RRA uppers for 625 and up. Lots of C&R's and military collectables. Magpul BB's for 25 and prince 50 kits for 20. Some great T-shirts, hats and bumper stickers.
Damned shame the next show isn't untill March. It was fun.
I'd like to go again next week.

    Diginit, Nice meeting you!

Yes it was small but pretty good. John Contos of Sonoma Firearms was there in full swing, after his legal victory. Saw lotsa nice pistols & classic revolvers.

    I picked up a C&R M44 with a beautiful bore and a glass-smooth action...

Got a chance to talk with John Mathews (a superb gunsmith).

    Wish Miwall were there.

We all need to support the SJ Gunshow and T&S Shows (the Nordyke family!)

It was a real pleasure to meet you also. Although I was alittle sidetracked by all the great stuff there. All the bayonetts, optics, uppers and lowers, etc.
I can still picture them all. Now I have to clean my keyboard.....
I wish Miwall was there also. Isn't the Miwall factory located near San Jose? Some reloads I saw were more expensive than new factory ammo. (Emphassis on some) And most of the factory (I say most) was more costly than Wallmart. I saw 200 rnds of reloads for 100 bucks. Same price as Wallmart new Rem ammo. Minus the tax that is. I just don't get it. Don't sellers think we know the prices since we buy it all the time? We go there searching for deals to save a few dollars. I can get 1000 rnds quality of 223 sammi (3200 fps)or nato (3250 fps) for 420 out the door from a custom reloader locally with once fired brass and hornady 55 gr fmjbt's. But I'm very happy with the S. African I found at $7 for 30 rnds. I just wish I had more cash. I would have bought all the 20 round boxes he had also. Just like anywhere, You have to look around for people that really want to sell and not just cash in by setting their prices at current market rates.

I believe they are located in Grass Valley.

I went there on Saturday. There were some nice rifles there. I think I should have purchased another AR lower while I was there but oh well. The ammo was a bit too expensive. The one thing which I was a little disappointed in was that the ShamWow" guy had the most impressive booth. The other things was I could not find any vendors which had gun powder.

What are the laws for buying guns from a show in CA?

you buy the firearm and you either dros with the ffl there or have it shipped to your ffl of choice.wait the 10 days then pick it up,same as going to a regular shop.

Sonoma Firearms had a Remmy R15 on display.

I couldn't see it too well, it was in camoflauge
