    "Glass Factory" this weekend

Anyone going to the "Glass Factory" near Santa Barbara this weekend?

High fire season recently closed, so its open now.

    Here's a map to it:

Was up there on Wednesday. The gate was still locked shut, but there were no signs posted about shooting. The Los Padres National Forest website says that fire restrictions are reduced after Dec 5. The only shooting thing they list as still being prohibited is tracers.

Anyways, I shot with a buddy for a few hours. You have to haul your stuff in from the gate. I saw a fair amount of people (6 groups of people) come and go (especially towards sundown). The gate may be open by this weekend, but I would plan on being able to carry all your stuff in and out from the gate just to be safe.

The place is a pretty serious mess right now. We should really organize a clean-up/shoot/BBQ again.

I actually called the fire station at the end of East Camino Cielo, they said yeah, high fire season is over and you can pop off a couple rounds.

      I'm down.

I'll be up there with some friends Sun from 10am to 3pm.

Look for a group with some OLLs,

Hey, NorCal guy question; so why is it called the 'glass factory'?

I have a perfect Burning Man attendance record: zero.

You do know there are more guns in the country than there are in the city.
Everyone and their mums is packin' round here!
        Like who?
        Farmers.
        Who else?
        Farmers' mums.

Probably because people bring glass bottles to shoot, which makes a real mess.

I usually bring wood or plastic targets, and always clean up after wards.

Its pretty bad when people bring their old TVs and appliances and leave them there.

That is how other shooting places in the LP get shut down. Even places that the local sportsman club did regular clean-up. Everyone really needs to get that crap out of there and warn other shooters that it will be shut down if it continues, I've seen some really *****en places to shoot closed down in the past.
