Im a little diaspointed... Hanford shooters

There is some privet land off of 17th and excelsior Ave. I had never been there until last Thursday, after being informed it was a local place to shoot. When we arrived the first thing we noticed was the sheer amount of trash and garbage strewn about. 100's of empty ammo boxes tons of E-waste and more beer and glass bottles we couldn't even count . Instead of getting there to shoot, it turned into a clean up. I had my son wife and a few friends with me. When we were around 3 hours and 2 pick up loads latter the land owner, came out to run us off. As he got closer and saw what we were doing he stopped us and thanked us, and went and bought more trash bags and sodas for us. He then also joined us in the clean up. Once we were done,He invited us to come out any time we would like, and was told to run any one we saw out there off. Ill post pics later tonight

Good job on taking the time to clean this place. We need more shooters like yourself to go the extra mile to keep these places clean.

Great job, if people would just pick up their own trash we wouldn't have a problem anywhere...thank you, your friends and family for doing more than your part.

Well done. Enough people give shooters a bad name it takes some good reports like these to help balance out public opinion.

I assume you're referring to the sandy river bottom area there alongside Maple Street just north of Excelsior Bridge. I've always been hesitant to shoot there because of inadequate backstop and other safety factors.

Good job buddy! I'm sure there are tons of shooting spots out there shut down for pollution reasons where the owners otherwise would have been fine with a little harmless plinking.
