I suspect you will pick up small rocks and the like but way better to get all your brass and not break your a*s (err back) :P

Better yet, a simple canvas painter's tarp works wonders. A few rocks for weight keeps it in place when the wind picks up. If you take a minute or so to set it up right, it'll catch a good 80% or more of your brass. Then just pick up the strays at the edges.

As for range pickup brass from yesterday's shooters? Well, you're on your own there, brother.
