    Jenkinson lake(sly lake)

Has any body camped at jenkinson lake? I have friends coming out to visit from South Dakota, and they want to go camping and fishing. The water temp seems a little warm for trout, but their web sight suggests they have trout. Any other suggestions? My wife's wants some where near water

I've been to that lake on several occasions over the years, by BIL used to live just a couple miles up the road from that lake. I've never camped there, but there are some nice camping spots along the lake.

The lake does hold rainbow and brown trout, my guess is that you'd do best on the troll down deep for trout this time of year. I've also caught small mouth bass and blue gill\sunfish as well there.

Other suggestions for trout fishing in the general area, Kirkwood lake, Silver lake, Bear River reservoir, Ice House reservoir, Union Valley reservoir.

    Good luck, have fun.

I've camped there and it's a good time. Pretty quiet, lots of shade lots of hiking and some pretty good mountain bike trails too.

If you go as far as Kirkwood, go a couple miles further to Caples lake.

Love Jenkinson enough that we bought a cabin up there. The camping is fine, the sites are OK, and there's tons to do down at the lake. Taco Tuesday at the Knothole is awesome!

Thanks for the quick replies. My wife wants to rent the cabin for a couple of nights. Time to investigate

As said earlier, you will probably have more luck trolling in a boat over shorefishing. I also know that the DFW heavily stocks this lake with planters.
It was just an old plywood boat, with a '75 Johnson, with electric choke. A young boy, two hands on the wheel, I can't replace the way it made me feel.
