May Shoot in NV.. Any interest?

I would like to get a shoot together and road trip to NV / Reno area. Anyone interested in doing something like that?

Would really like to take off my BB for the day and all that goes with being out of state.

Im open during the month..Was thinking of leaving very early on a Fri or Sat morning and coming back later that night. I don't want to spend the night or hang out with valuables in the vehicle....

Would like to meet along the 80 and everyone follow each other up. I don't know where to go and am hoping someone will.

Bring an Ice chest full of drinks and food and BBQ & Shoot for the day was my thoughts.

You need to get out of the restricked area around Reno.
There's a lot of BLM land out past Reno where you can camp, shoot, ride dirt bikes, etc. Not sure if I could make it, depends on the date.
How far past Reno are you willing to drive?

For a day trip, look out by Fernley, or the Carson City Pistol & Rifle Range.

Would like a spot where 2-300 yards or more is available. I would like to sight in a bolt gun and take some shots as long as possible.

Any input would be great. Why don't we start posting what days would work and see when the majority of people are available.

I'm not against going up multiple times during the month of may.

As mentioned in previous post, the carson public range is the ticket. They have covered tables and benches to shoot up to 300 yards. Problem there's no range officers. Golden if you are there by yourself.

I've never had a problem there people normally will be very cooperative to do a ceasefire plus you can drive down the side road to speed up target placements. You can also place targets on the hill to get longer shots.

You guys can also set up on one of the shorter side ranges and control it yourselves plus plenty of room for parking and setting up easyups and BBQ grills.

Just be nice to us locals since technically it is our public range and we are sharing it with you.

Sounds like a great time to be had by all. Does the public range allow rapid fire and drawing from holsters? That's what's great about BLM areas as another option... sans Harry Reid of course. There is a great Nevada CCW instructor in the Reno area that took us to BLM land for the shooting portion of the class. For those interested in a Nevada CCW that would be a fun Reno trip.

You can pretty much can do rapid fire, drills etc. as long as you aren't danger to others. There are private 50 - 75 yard berms past the rifle/pistol covered ranges. On certain days of the week police tactical squads practice there. I've seen reloaders stop by looking for brass. The smiles on their faces when I tell them that I don't need the brass.

They allow my machine gun with full auto so rapid fire is no problem.

Nice. Living in a free state has its advantages. For the machine gun does that require a $200 tax stamp and/or other fees?
