If it's Forest Service Land, you may want to contact the rangers. In reading the SoCal range cleanup posts, I've seen that the Rangers like to be on site during these things, and they like sign in sheets, I hear. I don't know if it's an official rule though. I'll bet that Pennys Dad could give you the full rundown.

I've also read that SoCal has some Calguns safety vests that they use when doing this (and then give back to GGN. You basically borrow them). Again, Pennys Dad can tell you. It's good publicity and good safety for the volunteers.

Let us know here once someone has spoken to the rangers. I think that's an excellent idea.

I have been thinking of taking a drive up to the local station. They do have volunteer forms and it will help us dump the trash for free among other things.

I need to look around the website more, there is some information here. http://prdp2fs.ess.usda.gov/main/tah...r/volunteering

        Stay tuned.

The sign in sheets are used by the FS to show stats (# of volunteers, # of man hours, etc.) for volunteer work on the forest, that is used to apply for grant money, equipment, etc.

Final a date, post it and I'll be there. Don't forget directions for those that need it.

This is not the main thread for the Forest Hills Cleanup. See this post for dates, meetup spots, etc.
