M&J Gun Trade in Sacramento closed

    Another one bites the dust...

Sad news for customers of M&J Gun Trade in Sacramento formerly at 2330 J Street. My buddy was conversing on Facebook today with them. Originally, the story was that they were just planning on moving to a new location in West Sac, but it appears that is no longer happening.

Their Facebook page was also taken down about 30 minutes ago:

M & J Gun Trade, Sacramento. 1,517 likes · 97 were here. M & J Gun Trade. Located in the heart of town on the corner of J and 24th Sts.

Shame too. I got some great consignment guns from that place last year. I imagine this will likely be commonplace in the years to come as Governor Newscum runs FFLs out of CA.

On a side note, it costs over $8,000 to get a CUP to open a gun store in Sac these days. Probably another reason why M&J was one of the very few shops in the city of Sacramento.

Was one of my favorite small LGS in the Sacramento region. They sold my other half her first ever firearm and got me back into the shooting hobby after quitting for ten years or more. We will miss them for sure.

That really sucks. I used to buy all my Marlins there. There was always a great conversation going on inside as well. It was just a really fun shop to visit.

I did a PPT there about three weeks ago. They had all sorts of cool C&R guns and modern guns. I picked up an Alfonso's of Hollywood leather holster there too. It was a small shop, but had nice stuff.

Sorry to see M&J close. They ran a good shop.

Bummer! I've bought & sold with them since they opened, sad to see them leave.

Went there last Friday interested in a Winchester 101 they had listed. Waited outside for 45 minutes before leaving thinking maybe they got stuck in morning traffic. Couple guys waiting too for PPT and another guy there to buy a Glock 30. No signs on window or door stating they were closed. Too bad, now have money in my pocket burning a hole to buy a new shotgun for dove opener.
