Cheapest place locally to pick up ammo? Specifically 9mm

Well, I've ran out of my supply of 9mm. So will have to start buying locally, since I don't have an FFL 03 and most FFL's are asking too much to where it seems cheaper just to buy from them.

Where's the cheapest place to pick up 9mm locally?

I'm not a Sacramento resident, but Wal-Marts near me still sell ammo OTC.

Indeed they do. They sell ammo at a pretty good price, but I'm just hoping for the slightest chance that there's a FFL giving a good deal on bulk.

Not the answer you were asking for but....

Might be a good excuse to pick up reloading. You can still order components direct to your door, you get cost savings from the fact that you're reloading and you get better quality ammo to boot.

Lee has a new progressive out that's $100, you could get a complete progressive setup for 9mm around $200 to start pulling handles. There's some learning involved, but you can easily get 9mm for $0.10/ea and that's using factory plated ammo. You might discover that your break even for the equipment+ components turns out your break even to less than bullk quantity you're planning on ordering.

I still reload 9mm even though I got 4k factory new Remington 147grn FMJs a few years ago at $0.08/ea after rebates, coupons and promotions.

RIVER CITY GUN EXCHANGE in Sacramento has the best prices on ammo if you dont want to shop at Walmart.

they have no limits, and lots of people buy it by the case.

I would only stock up on factory fresh ammo, NO Gun Show reloads made by small companies Ive never even heard of ?

stick with the popular big ammo companies like Federal, Winchester, Remington, Magtech , S&B, companies that actually make ammo for the military

The Rancho Cordova [metro Sac] Walmart was well stocked with all kinds of ammo even had the big buckets of .22 in stock. Plenty of 9 mm bulk packs and other boxes of .22. But check your prices and shop around. I know M&J Gun trade in mid town is moving to West Sacramento and had some deals so maybe give them a look.

Before I started reloading, I went to the Reno gun show once a year and loaded up on about 10k rounds. They will give you an unadvertised discount if you buy in bulk like that. It’s only a couple hours, and I usually made up for my gas money and at least some of my ammo money at the black jack table lol.

If you chose to order online, I recommend Loyal Arms in Folsom. They're a FFL01 & they'll take ammo deliveries for $20 per 2000 rounds. Or you can order directly from them & you'll avoid the fees.

They're not a stocking dealer so you can't walk in & browse, but if you already know what you want & just need a FFL to receive it, they're a good choice.

Redline in Rancho, they also have weekly email specials. Last week they had a special on frangible 9mm, this week it's 300blk.

Ammo Depot off of 50 in Folsom also has txt message specials and sales.

RCGEX has an ad that usually lists low prices on a box or case of 9mm... I think the one from this week was $9.84 and $190 IIRC.

Armory Outpost has had cheap cases all year. Under $200 IIRC.

                          Probably Sportsman's Warehouse.
