THE GUN RANGE in North Highlands firing sks?

What brand of ammo are people using at THE GUN RANGE to fire their AK or SKS or Mosin Nagants?

they say no steel jacketed ammo , where do they sell the correct ammo locally? the range might have some but it's probably over priced

they had copper jacketed 9x18 MAKAROV mfg by BLAZER with aluminum case for $25 a box

too much so I only shoot mine outdoors

You could call and ask them? I thought non magnetic was the only requirement. Wallmart used to sell brass cased/copper plated but that ship has sailed. GL.

PPU has some soft points that would be allowed there.

all the ammo I tried is magnetic, they also count the jacket even if it's lead on the inside

no steel jacket, no steel core

steel case is allowed like Winchester 9mm Forged, it has a copper jacket (non magnetic)

I guess I wont be shooting any sks rifles a the GUN RANGE , Ive seen it at other stores for around $20 a box (20 rds) for the non magnetic type ammo

better just to use it at outdoor ranges, standard ammo is much cheaper to shoot.

This is what is posted on their website
          9. The following ammunition types are not allowed inside the range. These types will be confiscated by range personnel and returned when you check out:
          a. Incendiary/Tracer
          b. Shotgun ammunition that is not 00 buckshot or a single slug
          c. Steel Jacketed/Armor Piercing

I know haven’t been there since last summer but I have used regular Tulammo fmj and seen others using it. They have rental AK and SKS to shoot

I've only shot an AK or SKS a few times there, but they never hassled me on the ammo. In fact all the times I've gone there they never even check my ammo.

I found some PPU brass cased FMJ ammo it was $13.99 a box

but I think I'll stick with standard TULA and shoot outdoors for my sks, much cheaper.

                update:

no ammo restrictions except no tracers, and no bird shot

so I can shoot my standard Russian steel jacketed ammo, like 7.62x39 , 7.62x54R , 9X18 Makarov by TULA
