Pellet Gun / Archery in San Carlos

Any locals in the San Carlos area know anything about the legality of either BB/Pellet guns or Archery in your back yard?

I've checked the municipal code and as far as I can see, "BB Guns" are exempt from the definition of "Firearms" and Archery has no relevant mention at all.

This would SEEM to indicate to me that I could in theory buy a pellet gun or recurve and shoot in my back yard?

The idea of ending the day with some archery in my own backyard is very appealing to me atm. I think all my neighbors would be cool with it, probably more than a pellet gun. I have a pretty safe target location in mind.

I don't currently have a bow but shot a bit college and it was pretty relaxing.

many cities got laws against shooting air-guns. forgot language but seemed to cover just about anything, many even plastic rounds like air-soft.

I'm guessing San Carlos will be pretty up-tight and top-heavy with "Karens" and cops eager to do their bidding on any "weapons" related anything.

Just be stealthy. We all do it. I do it in my garage.

I'm in San Mateo County and used to set up archery targets for the kids, frankly never gave a thought to it being illegal. My only worry was a stray arrow going over the fence. I addressed that by having the targets in a covered carport, and the kids shooting from the driveway. I would not worry about archery at all. If anyone did object, the worst outcome I would expect is a conversation and maybe a warning. I think archery is perceived as a sport, not a terrorist threat to the clue state.

Pellet gun is adifferent story. I know it is prohibited by ordinance in my town and think it is in many other towns. Even if not, I would be worried if there was any chance of being viewed from the street, you are likely to get swatted.
