I was there yesterday. Nice folks there. Get there early, or prepare for a long wait.

      Do they allow rapid fire?

No they do not allow rapid fire. Just head over anywhere else in the city of Richmond and it should be fine.

Richmond R&G has shorter target change periods than Chabot. The waits are longer, however. The scenery is also not as nice.

It's a decent spot though. I just wish I could shoot on their long range.

Shoot the highpower match this Sat or the garand match Sun.

I went for the first time, people are were nice and get there early !

Something I didn't like is when they call

Commence fire on the pistol range while the rifle range are still down range setting up targets or people are still walking back from the 100 yards

I know there was a wall between the ranges but it didn't feel right.
I just had walk really fast to set the targets up and walk back before everyone else

Heading to Richmond range tomorrow early. Do I bring my own targets or can I buy them there?

Richmond does not do Highpower on the action range. They do High Power on the 200 yard line. The action range has a requirement that you take the safe handgun competitor class. Once you take the class, you are allowed to come and practice draw from holster on the static line as well as the stage we set up for practice usually on Bay 4 (sometimes it changes if there is a class on Sat).

I've burned many a moon clip/magazine at up to 4 shots a second as have many USPSA, IDPA, and ICORE competitors.. On the 25 and 100 yard lines, it is still 4 seconds per shot.. On the 200 yard line, it is whatever the match dictates. Most people aren't able to keep multple shots on target at more than 1 shot/second and with the short-ish berm for that distance, that means you are putting rounds into the bay.. not allowed.

Anyone wants to make this into a monthly range day?

Not necessarily at Richmond but maybe

Sunnyvale rods and guns or Los altos rods and guns ?

LARG is a nice facility. I really like the fact they let you rapid fire any .22 on the 40yd tin can alley.

I'd be up for meeting as part of a CG shoot. I can usually make time on weekends.
