Redding Gun Club Tuesday evening steel (pistol) shoots

For all you folks in the Redding area, the Tuesday evening steel shoots are happening every Tuesday at the Redding Gun Club. http://reddinggunclub.net/

These are informal, club matches/shoots and are a lot of fun. Usually there are 4-5 stages. Every shoot offers diffent stages.

What to bring:

Center fire pistol with 4+ mags or speed loaders. Folks shoot everything from compacts to full blown open guns....so run what ya brung!
Holster and mag holders, but a dump pouch will work for mags or even your pockets.
150+ rounds of ammo....most stages are under 20-22 rounds so if your a real good shot, less ammo needed
Something to drink....it gets hot out there.
Eye and ear protection!!! Even to just watch.

Cost is $10.00 per match. First time shooters shoot for FREE.

Matches start at 5:00pm and generally end around 8:00pm. Best to show up a bit early. If you would like to set up a stage, please show up around 4:00'ish. Please stick around to help knock down the stages.

Darn. I went to some of those a couple of years ago. I get off work at 5pm in Red Bluff so can't make it right now. After the first of the year I'll be done with work and will be able to make it to more local matches. Mark

I've been considering a membership at that range since Keswick is shut down during the summer because of fire hazards. How busy is it there? Can I shoot without waiting in a line during regular hours? One last question.. do they allow steel core ammo so I can shoot that instead of wasting my expensive soft points in my Mosin?

Depends on when you go, but I have never seen it so busy that you had to way for a shooting position.

BigBamBoo, do these run all year long? Still every Tuesday night? I have Tues nights free here and there and was wondering if these are still happening at the RGC.

I stopped running Tuesday Night Steel a few years ago.
Another member ran it for a season but gave up on it due to the lack of help setting up.

and it only ran during the summer.

That's a shame... any interest in starting it up again? Maybe just once a month?

It would only be in the summer due to the range hours.

Any one can start it up. Just need to make sure to be there and set it up.
