    Areas like Panoche

Hi Calguns. I was wondering if people knew of another place on BLM land that is a lot like Panoche.

Panoche right now is closed to vehicle traffic because of fire hazard (which I'm not sure of why the classify vehicles as fire hazards - hot brakes?)

Anyway, finding a place 5 or 6 hrs out of SF Bay area that's like Panoche would be awesome. Any help would be appreciated.

Hot catalytic converters have been known to set grass fires.

Wish I knew of some places other than Panoche, I'm still new to this BLM thing. At least I've got a few months to prepare for re-opening.

Depends. When I go to Panoche, I go for the long distance that it provides. There is another spot near there that I go to if I just want to shoot pistols. I shoot this spot year round. Hit me up if you are interested. Yes, gates are closed but you can literally pack your stuff and hike 200ft to a shooting spot. I do it all the time.

Regarding Lake Pillsbury. I've seen a few people say that they shoot there, but this USDA doc seems to suggest that one is not permitted to?

Mendocino National Forest offers 1 million acres of rugged, unique landscape from the Sacramento Valley foothills to the North Coast mountains.
