has anyone ever used GKC Armory?

I just dropped off one of my glocks to get cerakote'd by GKC Armory in Sacramento...

Both the guys were extremely nice and seemed like true gentlemen

I wanted to hear some reviews on their work and how well it turned out but I could only find one review on Yelp. so I thought I'd post on here and see if anyone has ever had any work done by them..

    1. have you had anything cerakoted by GKC?
    2. what did they Cerakote?
    3. How did it turn out?
    4. Did you have anything stippled? how did it turn out?

    etc.

oh, and I'll keep yall posted with pics when the work is complete.

Yeah I dropped off a stripped AR15 Lower, Upper, and Handguard about two months back to be cerakoted. Greg was quite professional and did an excellent job. Very professionally done and was completed when promised. I will post a few pictures when i get a chance.

I've heard nothing but good things about them.

They recently F'd up my project. What a disaster!

I got a quote to have a rifle stock Cerekoted with black webbing (pretty common pattern on custom stocks re: HS Precision, Bell & Carlson, etc). I failed to reach them via phone at first so I sent an email with this example pic to get a quote:

A few days later they finally answered the phone and I got a quote and dropped off the stock the next day. Nice guys, and I understand it's a small hands-on shop so they can't just stop and answer the phone all the time. They told me 10-14 days because they had to order the color I wanted.

3 weeks later I called to see what the delay was. I called 5-6 times over two days but nobody answered They finally returned my message. Turns out they accidentally melted a piece of the stock during the acetone dip degreasing process. They admitted it was their error and they were working on getting a replacement part or buying me a new replacement stock. Called back that day and said 5 days shipping for the part plus painting so it would be ready the next week.

I went to the shop on day 31 only to discover they did not apply a "webbing" pattern as quoted. Instead they insisted the fish net pattern they painted was "webbing". It looked just like this:

I referred them to the photo I emailed at the time of the price quote. (See above) They insisted the spray type webbing I wanted was a dipped finish and not a painted finish. Which is totally incorrect.

They offered to "try" to replicate the webbing pattern but I declined. I had already waited 31 days for this project.

I ended up getting a full refund at their suggestion) and they blasted off the finish before I left. They were very apologetic, very nice guys, and tried to make it rightrights. However, they couldn't get the job done.

            That's my experience.

That finish looks like a hydrodip to me.

It is NOT hydrodip. Google it and you'll find a thousand images just like it, zero if which are hydrodip. Google: "rifle stock webbing" The method involves spraying at low pressure with thick paint. It can be replicated with a cheap can of less durable Krylon webbing spray paint from the craft store.

Show me ONE source or image for a hydro dip in that type of pattern. You can't, because it's not a dip. It's a sprayed on finish.

While they couldn't do what you asked, seems like they're straight shooters with great CS!
