    Denim tailor

    Hey all,

I'm looking for a shop, tailor or seamstress who can do quality alterations to jeans and denim, and can also make a pair of jeans using an old pair as the pattern. I'm in the Bay Area, so SF and Sacramento are both readily accessible to me.

Any leads are greatly appreciated. Eastern Mountain Sports discontinued a fantastic pair of jeans that have lasted me three years, and are perfect for everything from range day to motorcycle trips.

    Thanks,
    -Seph

Well, the main reason I've found the EMS Blacksmith jeans to be so capable, is that beyond their use of a stretch denim, the design incorporates a gusset crotch. This diamond gusset provides significantly more room to run, kneel, or squat than any other jeans I wore in the past.

There are other brands that use a diamond gusset, like Duluth Traders and Riggs, but the only pair that has come close in fit and function is the Axiom by Prana. However, even this design lacks with no thigh pocket or double belt loops.

Hence why I'm on the hunt for someone to make me a batch of my own Blacksmith jeans, updated and new.
