Gun smith Modesto / Bay Area / sac??

I have a stainless 1911 - looking for a Good gun smith that can do a minor rounding / blending
Of the frame and main spring housing. - NOT bobtail. I have a Kimber Combat that I had the bottom corner rounded - looks OK - just needs a bit move 'Love' from a file. Shipping is out because of the Large cost

Ken Genecco (Genecco Gun Works) in Stockton is one of the best around. Beware of two things though......He is always backed up and you might not get your gun back for months. He is expensive, but he is good.

He shuts down every December for catch up and equipment maintenance so if you need to see him you have this month left.

Just got an PM from Redwood city, drive to that part of the bay is just too much - I will give Ken a try - used him back in the 70's - didn't know he was still around

I've had Paul at Barnwood Arms do some minor work for me which I was pleased with.
Check back later for a witty comment.

I would stick with Paul at Barnwood. Plus they have the indoor range to do proper testing with right there.

Took a gamble on Shotgun Johnny's (because I live in Manteca), wish I would have gone with Barnwood as the job is now two weeks over the estimated time for a simple cut and recrown.
