I wondering how many Bay Area gunners are frequent customers of Jackson Arms. I'm asking because it would be nice to get some range time with some Calgunners... Great way to "Meet & Greet" with some like-minded folks..

I haven't checked out their inventory much. Plenty of ammo availiable for the range. Have heard of folks getting lucky with a specific handgun they have been looking for and found it there. Hit or miss for firearms sales, imo. $14/hr lane rental and $7 for extra shooters. It can be really busy at prime time hours.sigpic

A little expensive, but a decent range during the week. Very crowded during peak hours, lot of first time shooters and have to watch your neighborComment

Only gun range within 10min drive of me. Chill place and staff, but a little worn down. Never had a great variety of guns for sale (especially now). It is very dark sometimes in the range. Target holders are a little finicky; help by binder clips and zip ties.
Since the ammo shortage, I would just pick up two boxes here and there just to practice (from what I remember, $20 for factory box of 50). This saturday, they cleared out of almost all their ammunition across all pistol ranges. I'm sure they will resupply soon though. They had independence last time I was there.
If you want to go there just to brush up on your skills and practice, this is not a bad place at all. I go there regularly.
Oh also, sometimes they forget to give me the targets and ammo I write down on the slip I had them, but a gentle reminder usually gets things on the way haha. I think they were distracted watching Ted.
+1 on the watch your neighbor comment above. They do kick people who are unsafe and flag the lanes..Comment

I went for some range time last thursday. Took my USP 40 for further "breakdown" period. I caught a break and only 2 other lanes were being used, (time was around 4pm). Best part of the day was the fact that I found some 9mm ammo there. Been trying to prep for my CZ-75 and 9mm ammo has been out of stock locally.
I did notice that Jackson Arms is able to get far more shipments of ammo than the local gun stores.
Note: during peak hours, there are some "Call of Duty" and "wannabe gangsters" that will come and go. So yeah, watch out who's in the next lane.sigpic

I'm thankful JA exists but IMO it's kinda "eh...".
Once I had a taste of Los Altos Rod n Gun club I got hooked over there. More bang for the buck but a little farther.
The cool thing about JA is that you can shoot rapid fire at large targets (center mass only).
The gun selection is so so. I've seen better at Reeds or city arms. Not a lot (or any) long arms for sale. It sucks that I can't shoot my AK there. I liked the old JA when it was at Oyster PointComment
