Took My 7 Years Old Daughter Shooting

I took my oldest daughter shooting in Big Bear when she was around 7. I had wanted to take my other daughter too but she was too short/small and could not handle a 10/22 correctly. Hopefully my younger one will be tall enough in April when the range opens up again. I really enjoy taking my oldest the last time I went. I'm in education so I know that it is extremely important to teach children the importance of our rights under the Constitution if we want to keep them. I have also taken one of her friends and several other first timers.

The 10/22 will probably be a little big for her. I got my granddaughter a Crickett rifle and it fits her very well. After a few minutes, she was loading and cocking it all by herself. She hits what she aims at, and enjoys herself very much. Her older brother, 9, still prefers his Crickett over the 10/22. Having a rifle that fits them well makes it more enjoyable.

All three of my grandkids have both in my safe for when they are big enough. I was planning on building ARs for each of them before the current madness set in. Now it's a wait and see thing.

Here are some photos from her first trip to the range.

Nice! Like to see others taken their daughters out shooting. I first took my now twelve year old out last year and taught her with my 10/22. She now shoots her own marlin 795 I got her. my 7 year old is really petite and the marlin seems to big for her so I will be getting her a savage rascal for her birthday.keep taking out and have fun...
