Any youth IDPA / IPSC shooters?

Just wondering what caliber/handgun you use?
My gf's little bro got all A's this semester and as promised I'd teach him IDPA and take him with me.

I have a Glock 22 and an HK compact 40. He's a skinny runt of a 16yr old, built like a bean pole and I keep thinking that Glock is going to break his wrists but he loves it a lot more than the HK.

Thought about borrowing maybe a Glock 19 or 17 and seeing if he likes the smaller caliber.

    Thoughts? Thanks!

      I've only seen a few.
Most recently, I met a very talented 13-year old USPSA/IDPA shooter here in VA, Tori Nonaka, who's got all the makings of a champion someday. She shoots a Glock 34 and JP AR - all purple.
I wish I was doing something cool like Shooting Sports when I was 13.

Tori's definitely the exception not he rule. That kid can shoot!

CZ/EAA's are great guns for kids and smaller females to start with as the ergonomics are seemingly perfect. In 9mm, they have very little felt recoil and they are reliable. Glocks aren't bad once the recoil spring is adjusted to where it should be (oversprung from the factory). Comfort is key as with both sports there so much other "stuff" to deal with, you don't want them fighting the gun too.

My son and daughter shoot IDPA with me. They both use rimfire handguns (which are illegal in IDPA), but they simply don't shoot for official score. The two clubs I frequent have no problem with this, because they think it's great to have the younger kids involved.
