New Holster Idea - Lethal Lace

The SHOT show happened in Vegas again, not that I got to attend, but someone sent me the link on this woman, who offers a rather compelling holster that I may really like for summer carry. I'm not 100% on it, because it doesn't offer the same trigger protection as kydex, but it would probably be ok for those days that belt carry just will not do. She's a nurse practitioner with 6 kids, which I also thought was pretty cool.

No reason you couldn't use a kydex trigger guard holster in conjunction with this, right?

You know, you are right. I bet I could. Huh. Guess that erases my only reason for not plunking down my money for this!

I'm not putting her idea down, but couldn't you do the same thing with a big ace bandage (you know the flesh colored elastic wrapping type.) ?

I guess you have to sew a pocket but you could easily just fold back the first 8 inches of the rap and sew pocket with that.

maybe there's something about it that I'm not seeing yet, like it stays cooler then a ace bandage or is better looking which it is obviously.

Glock Girl, I was at shot show and looked at the product. The material is of good quality, the idea is decent, but seems to be somewhat complex.

Sandy Lieberman a co-owner of Artemis Defense Institute in Lake Forest has ordered one for test and evaluation. Artemis trains CCW and post CCW civilians, but their core business is law enforcement, special forces units, etc. Among the training community around So. Cal they are highly regarded. Artemis is a simulation training center, which allows them to test and pressure test a range of products, in various scenarios without risk of injury. Unless you have the 80,000 volt shoot back pack strapped to you.

Anyway you might want to contact her, to get her feedback. By the time she and one of her senior trainers who is also a woman are done with it, well all have a better idea of it's functionality under pressure. http://www.artemisdefenseinstitute.com/

yes, it looks like a frillier ace bandage but i'm betting it is a finer material and therefore more comfortable? look forward to reports by those using them.

eta: I do not have a CCW but I think this would be great when traveling for holding a passport and other items as well.....I just might have to order one and try it!

Being a nurse, I know how hot and sweaty those ACE bandages make a person. I think the lacy material would work so much better. The creator must think so too, since she's wearing hers in the gym.

Thank you for this thread and the reply Gock Girl.

I knew there was a reason, other than it just looking so much better than a ace bandage.

and as I mentioned in my post I thought it might be cooler in temperature to wear for extended times.
( I personally have never had to wear one of those bandages for any extended length of time.)

it also occurs to me because of the size flexibility almost anyone could wear this and on lots of different parts of the body.

Truth! And yes, in a pinch, an ACE would work. Especially in winter!

The material is attractive in person, and seems to be of good quality.

Nice material, good quality, and good stretch to it. I think with a trigger guard, this can be really great. I was able to demo at Shot and liked the way it felt.

You could probably combine it with a MIC holster which is a tear away kydex trigger guard:

WTB: multiautomatic ghost gun with a .30-caliber clip to disperse with 30 bullets within half a second. Must include shoulder thing that goes up.

Sandy at Artemis Defense Institute told me she received her Lethal Lace holster this week. She expects to put it through it's paces over the next week on the range (simulator) and daily wear to see how it performs. When she posts a report I will posted it here.
