    Brownell Lady 3gun ProAm Recap

Hello ladies, it has been a while since I have posted. Iam 6 days away from shooting my last major match of the year.

While the first part of the year was a rocky start, I just came home last night from Atlanta GA after shooting the brownells Lade 3 gun.

So much goodness, this was the inaugural event 200 ladies from all over the USAas well as South Agricia and Austrailia. Every one from pro down to first time competitor showed up and rocked the range.

I ended up 39th in my division, the Junior shooters that are coming up in the ranks are amazingly great shooters.

I also walked away with a new rifle from one of the CalGun Vendors. KE Arms. Can't wait to get that baby home and down to the local range.

If you are in San Diego area and want to try 3 gun out please let me know. I would be more then happy to go to the range and assist you.

Yaayyy! Ladyrr, I must have missed this. I knew you shot competitively, but I missed the three-gun part. That's on my list of to-do's. It's just thrilling that you got a ranking in an international competition. Well done and congrats on the new rifle.

Folks, I've seen 3-gun shoots and although I haven't done it myself, it looks to be way fun. Ladyrr, will you give us a short description of how 3 gun works? I think women will be interested.

Well, 3 gun, my new love in the shooting sports. Basically 3 gun is Rifle, Pistol and shotgun. Shot for fastest time, you get time added to your score if you fail to engage a target, failure to neutralize, only one hit on a target without hitting the a zone.

In a match you have stages similar to USPSA matches, with the exception of instead of just shooting pistol you shoot either 2 or 3 guns during one stage. So you might start off on paper targets with either your pistol or rifle, the. You would shoot steel or clay targets with the shot gun and the. Finish up with your pistol or rife. It really is a combination of shooting.

For instance: We shot one stage last weekend on stage two called cowboy town. You started with your shotgun at the low ready. At the buzzer you engages paper targets at about 65 yards then ran to a makeshift old town front, then you engaged close quarter paper targets through the window and doors, we then dumped the rifle on safe I to a dump bucket, retrieved you pistol from the holster and engaged paper targets through more window and doors down the sidewalk. You also had the choice to shoot 4 steel targets with either the pistol or with the shot gun staged about 30 feet in the middle of what would be the diets street. I took the steel with my pistol, other ladies took them with their shotgun. Anyways after you engaged the pistol targets you went down the steps to a table where your shotgun was staged loaded to class capacity and engaged 14 steel and clay targets. If you looked at them correctly you could get both a bird and a steel target with one shot. So in reality you could shoot the shotgun with anywhere between 7-14 shots.

At this years shot show it was announced that Brownell would sponsor an all lady 3 gun match ProAm so anyone could enter and shoot this event. There were 200 ladies scheduled to fly/drive to the match to compete. It is the first time in US history a Major match was put on just for ladies, guys could come and RO or watch. All of the major manufacturers donated towards the prize table. Every lady that finished the match was awarded a walk to the prize table in the place of finish. The last place lady still walked away with more in gift certificates and gun parts then their entry fee.

With the lady shooter becoming the up and coming competitor manufacturers are taking notice of this new wave of shooters. They are listening and now their eyes have been opened that women from all over the world will show up to compete. It did not matter if you were a well seasoned pro, armature, or a brand new shooter. This event is now going to happen every year.

If you are interested in 3 gun. Check out 3gunnation.com they have training videos, tv shows, info etc...
