San Diego Instruction, Training and Practice

Team, I would like some recommendations for ranges that have good women's beginning and defensive handgun courses in the San Diego area, as well as a regular women's shooting group.

A little background, my wife and I own a little company PackinFurDefense.com that sells CCW and personal defense supplies and systems. This ranges from dog training aids, holsters, concealed carry products to stun-guns that fit on your iPhone. We showed for the first time at Del Mar at the end of September and had a number of women ask us who we would recommend give them instruction. We had husbands (many Marines and Navy personnel) that wanted us to recommend instructors. We really don't know/have experience with anyone south or east of Oceanside. We are located in Mission Viejo. We would like to help them out, so I am looking to build a reference book for when were are back in Del Mar.

I prefer personal experience, rather than just a list of ranges that throw in a women's handgun course.

    Thanks.

Active Shooter Defense School they are on FB and have a website. I will tell you hands down the instruction you get from Matt, Reg, Sean, and Jamie is amazing.

If you contact Ricky-Ray, here on Calguns, he may be able to help you. He co-ordinates the Calguns/NRA "Women on Target" trainings in SoCal and probably has good information on women's events, women trainers and women-friendly ranges.

Thanks Bonnie, he was able to give me one, so at least we have someplace we can recommend which helps. Well be down in Del Mar in December for the show and it will be great to have that information.

Now I need to find someone for the Ventura region if we decide to go to the gun show up there.

            I believe FB means Facebook.

On the Ventura one, you might contact PennysDad, he runs the CGSSA and may know of someone in the Ventura area.

Here's a link to the Calguns Ventura Chapter. You might post a thread there, asking for women nra instructors. Someone local should be able to give you a recommendation. To my knowledge, CGN doesn't keep "an approved list" of instructors, so you kinda have to fall back on the NRA and on the local chapters. http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/f...play.php?f=293

If that doesn't help, you could google " NRA instructors Ventura" and some may pop up. Or call around to the local ranges and see who teaches at each one.
