NRA Women's Wilderness Escape

This is absolutely the coolest experience! You get instruction in archery, blackpowder, handgun, shotgun, rifle (including sniper rifle and tactical rifle), plus cowboy action shooting and more! You will be with other women who share your interest in firearms, and you may make some great new friends.

It's at the NRA Whittington Center off the old Santa Fe Trail in northern New Mexico, where you can see deer, elk, antelope, also bears. The fee includes food, lodging, instruction, equipment, ammo - just bring yourself and your enthusiasm. No experience is necessary. But sign up quick, there is probably already a waiting list! (But people do drop out, so don't despair.)

At the first Wilderness Escape this past July there were at least 5 women from Southern California. We need a higher participation rate to show the rest of the country that Californians are serious about their guns!

Now WTH can't they offer something like that for men? It would be such a cool intro to all the different types of shooting discipline. I wonder if my wife is interested....hmmmmm!

Because they know if they can hook the mom, they get the whole family into the shooting sports!

Some of the women at the July 2008 event were there because their husbands saw the notice in one of the NRA magazines, and said "Honey, this is your next vacation!"
