When my wife bought her handgun, we hired Calgunner 9mmepiphany; that was a really good experience. If one is in or near Sacramento, he would be a great choice.

I knew (and still know) that I don't know enough to teach shooting, so it was never my plan to try to teach my wife.

Hell, I'm a NRA Certified Instructor and I tried to get my wife to go to a WOT class just to get instruction from someone with different experiences and teaching techniques. I also have encouraged other female students of mine to attend WOT classes and/or seek out a second instructor.

There is a word of wisdom from a guy who is a firearms instructor:

No husband should ever teach his wife how to shoot.

Man, so true and works both ways - I ask people if their wife/husband couldn't drive, would they be willing to teach them...

Of course I offer great rates and lots of patience with new shooters

I'm waiting for someone's girlfriend to teach guys. I'd be willing forget what I know and play dumb to re-learn.
