.......although not raised around guns, took a liking to them when we got married some 30+ years ago. I gave her a Davis .22 derringer to keep in the house, but made the mistake of letting her shoot my S&W 629 .44mag w/8 3-8 barrel one day. She handed the derringer back and said she wanted the .44 for the house. Who am I to complain? Although she could handle it OK, I always thought I'd like to get her something a little more "dainty". Two years ago she and a friend took some shooting lessons at the local gun range, and she and our daughter took their firearms safety course. so last year I decided to get something especially for her. I bought a S&W 4" 686 .357mag., and "let her open it" for Christmas. It almost brought tears to her eyes.
With all the new laws and such, I decided it was time to put it in her name, just for legality sake. I downloaded the Handgun Safety Handbook, emailed it to her computer. That was Tuesday, I think. I told her she had to pass the test to legally have it put in her name. I figured I'd have to rag on her a few times to read the book, etc.
Yesterday, she walked into my office and asked where she had to go to take the test. I told her the local gun shop. She said she was ready to go any time!!!!!!!!!
Now I know why we've been married so long.....................
